Data and Analytics
Introduction
The client's Power BI reports were managed as template files with no meaningful version history and no split between test and production. United Hub rebuilt the release process around Git, automated publishing, and generated documentation.
The challenge
Reports lived in a repository as .pbit template files, which meant no meaningful version history and no separation between UAT and production environments. Updating the repository and publishing to Power BI workspaces were manual tasks. Documentation was written inconsistently, produced only when someone had time, and followed no standard format.
Our approach
We migrated report development to the Power BI Project (.pbip) format, which Git can track at the file and line level, so real version control and code review became possible. We established a release process where every change is validated in UAT before promotion to production, backed by an automated pipeline that publishes approved changes to the corresponding workspaces. Within the same process, an AI agent generates up to date documentation for every semantic model.
Outcomes
Full governance over the Power BI release process, with separated UAT and production environments.
A complete audit trail of every change.
Documentation generated automatically with each release, removing a task that previously depended on developer availability and produced inconsistent results.

An AI agent made thousands of engineering drawings searchable
Thousands of industrial drawing PDFs held information no one could search. We built an AI agent that reads and structures the data, so teams can query the data in natural language at scale.

$800K a year in licensing, replaced by a 30 minute Databricks job
A large manufacturing was paying $800,000 a year to license enterprise data virtualization software for daily quality checks. We rebuilt it natively on Databricks, removing the license cost.

Spotting water leaks before they reach the P&L
Water consumption data sat in disconnected sources across a property portfolio. We consolidated it into one governed model and a dashboard that flags anomalies directly.
